FastFrame Applications

Below is a list of all the FastFrame applications which have been created by the codejanitor team. Unless marked otherwise they are available via the download page.

  • Login (bundled with FastFrame): Handles showing the log-in screen and authenticating the user. Also displays the create account and forgot password links if enabled.
  • Profile (bundled with FastFrame): Handles creating, editing, and deleting user profiles. Each field (i.e. name, department, image, etc.) can be turned off if not needed.
  • Permissions (bundled with FastFrame): Allows permission groups to be created, edited, and deleted. Each permission group makes up a set of privileges that can be applied to a user.
  • Mayday: A trouble ticket system that allows users to track issues (by commenting on them, assigning them, setting progress, attaching relevant files etc.) and manage issues (by giving them a priority, location, due date, etc.). Has an email interface that allows end-users to interact with the system solely through email.
  • Checkout: Manages an inventory items (i.e. books, photography equipment, computer equipment, etc.) by tracking reservations and loans of the items and making sure that items are never over-booked. Has a shopper interface that allows end users to browse the available items and make reservations themselves.
  • Massmail: Allows you to create, edit, and delete messages to send out to a large number of people. Interfaces with the profile application so that you can email users in the FastFrame system.
  • Phone List: A simple, but useful application that lists the names, phone numbers, and email addresses of a department. You can use the native MySQL backend or use the LDAP backend (including Active Directory) to create, edit, and delete numbers.
  • Portal: A simple portal application that allows several blocks of links or text to be created and shown on a main “entry” page. The links can point to external websites or to pages created in the portal.
  • Alumni Website: A complete website built on top of FastFrame. Shows top stories, news bulletins, alumni websites, and a searchable list of alumni.
  • Catalog Request (only available via svn): Manages adding and editing requests for a school catalog to a database. The requests can be exported to CSV and a statistics page is available.
  • FTP Homework (only available via svn): The web interface allows faculty to create an assignment for their class and assign it an open date and due date. A perl backend extends Net::FTPServer to create a custom FTP server which allows students to upload their homework assignments. Faculty can log in to the FTP server to retrieve homework, see who turned in work late, and return graded work.
